A Life of Performing
I have spent many years performing as a professional musician in top 40 cover bands around the world, bringing high-energy, crowd-focused performances to stages across Dubai, Singapore, Bahrain, Thailand, Abu Dhabi, Oman, and Indonesia. These international engagements shaped my versatility as a performer, allowing me to adapt seamlessly to diverse audiences, venues, and musical styles while delivering familiar songs with precision and personality.
In addition to land-based performances, I worked for several years as a piano bar entertainer aboard major cruise lines, including P&O Australia, Holland America, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean. Performing night after night at sea sharpened my ability to read a room, take requests, and create an engaging, interactive experience for guests from around the world.
After returning to Canada, I continued building my career as a live performer with a country band known as the Peter James Band, playing festivals, venues, and private events. These combined experiences—international touring, cruise ship entertainment, and Canadian live performance—have shaped a well-rounded musician with a deep understanding of live music, audience connection, and professional reliability.
A Life of Recording
With two albums, Can’t Hold Back Anymore and Livin’ For The Summer, and several singles released, my recordings reflect a blend of pop, rock, and country influences shaped by years of live performance. Each song is rooted in strong melodies, honest lyrics, and performances designed to feel natural and relatable. Drawing from pop’s accessibility, rock’s energy, and country’s storytelling, the music balances modern production with an organic, musician-driven sound.
Whether it’s an upbeat, radio-friendly track or a more stripped-down, piano-led performance, the focus is always on feel and authenticity. These recordings capture the same spirit I bring to the stage—connection, emotion, and musical integrity—while allowing space for each song to stand on its own. The result is a catalog that feels versatile yet cohesive, grounded in real experiences and a love for timeless songwriting.
